EDITORIAL
what have we got for you this time? to be honest with you, what’s been left to say, at least for now, is just lots and lots of girls (latin: inquisitivas beatificas). they’re thorough body-soul studies into such dark corners and depths that not only boys, but even more so girls perhaps, might feel the need – or urge even – to dig their noses into our latest edition of the most enticing magazine in the whole whole world. so it’s girls, drawn and written – standing, kneeling, cowering, towering, sensing, seeing, scratching, sneering, haha. well, we’ll show you a few things, that’s for sure.
but there’s also a jesus feature. as you know, we’re not religious, we are cultivators and cultivation is science – the highest science – but like with our hymn to a goddess feature from draft’s payback time, we were fascinated about historical portraits that break with the established ‘norm’ and perhaps paint pictures that are more in tune with our own view of ‘reality’. the results are fascinating.
what else have we got? some of you might remember punch magazine, the british cult publication since victorian times that was back then really capable of not giving a shit. we’ll present some of the illustrative highlights in their full deserving glory, in order to pay our humble tribute to this unforgettable milestone of magazine publishing that we feel punch magazine has set in our world.
and for all the other present-day problems? well, everything has been said, we think. although not much been done. lip services are being paid everywhere, day-after-day, hour-by-hour. some might even turn from ‘dry games’ into ‘wet games’ as psychologist eric berne would’ve put it. game or not game – so many clowns everywhere. it’s astonishing, meanwhile, that a documentary filmmaker like erwin wagenhofer, despite their break-neck, spot-on trilogy about the extent of our world ‘problems’, are unliked on facebook and strategically neglected and slandered by the desperate wailing powers to be. we’ll dedicate a few active words on that.
of course, as usual, there’s also something for the philosphers and the ponderers between these pages. only between us. and so it is.
